We run two competitions a year. New Voices is aimed at writers who have recently embarked on a novel and would like some support in the early stages. Spotlight First Novel Award is aimed at more experienced writers who have already completed a full draft and are working towards publication.
Competitions function at a number of levels. Everyone loves a deadline and its good practice to produce key documents to a professional standard. Long-listed writers get a confidence boost, shortlisted writers gain a credit to bolster their submission, the winner gains mentoring. Everyone’s a winner!
